Can Ukrainian citizens apply for an Egypt eVisa?

Ukrainian ordinary passport holders can prepare an Egypt tourist eVisa. Residence in another European country and departure from its airport do not change the Ukrainian passport nationality. Use the current international passport and the actual Egyptian arrival date, while checking transit and return rights separately for every country on the route.

Ukrainian passport, residence abroad and transit documents

Separate Egyptian entry from the right to leave, transit through or return to the country where you currently live. A European residence or temporary-protection document may matter for that other leg, but should not be entered as the passport nationality for Egypt. Check the Ukrainian MFA's destination information and the relevant countries' current instructions for your personal circumstances. This guide does not establish permission to depart Ukraine or re-enter a host country, and the eVisa cannot replace those separate documents.

A Ukrainian traveller leaving from Warsaw

For an illustrative Warsaw–Hurghada holiday, select Ukraine when using a Ukrainian passport, even if the hotel booking has a Polish billing address. Keep the actual home/contact address accurate and use the first Egyptian accommodation for the stay address. A second family member holding a Polish passport needs their own nationality check. On return, have the documents needed for the destination of the return flight, not only the Egyptian approval that was used on the outbound journey.

School breaks while living outside Ukraine

Plan around the school and work calendar of the place where the family actually lives. Confirm the outbound route and the return-document situation before committing to a short departure window. Leave time to clarify a passport renewal or a transliteration difference rather than assuming a residence document automatically resolves the Egyptian application.

Example: a new passport with a changed Latin spelling

Suppose the current Ukrainian passport spells a surname differently from an older visa or a residence card. Use the current travel passport's Latin fields for the Egyptian record and review any booking discrepancy separately. Do not substitute a domestic identity card or host-country permit for the biodata page. Upload the complete page so the spelling and MRZ can be compared. Keep the departure and return documentation together, but clearly separate from the passport image submitted in this application.

A check before applying with a Ukrainian passport

A Polish, German or Romanian departure airport does not make the traveller a citizen of that country. Choosing the airport's nationality may lead to a visa record that does not match the passport presented at entry. Check every family's document combination individually.

Prepare your application and travel file

  1. Check the route first. Use the ordinary passport you will carry. The official Egyptian portal lists passport validity of at least six months from arrival. Resolve any nationality-specific conditions before payment.
  2. Prepare a readable biodata page. This form accepts JPG or PNG, up to 500 KB. Keep all edges and the machine-readable lines visible. Manually verify automatically read names, numbers and dates.
  3. Keep dates and addresses consistent. Have your actual Egyptian arrival date, intended departure, itinerary, accommodation address and contact email ready. The form advances between completed sections automatically; review the answers before submitting.
  4. Review the entry product and total. Single Entry is $59 and Multiple Entry is $149 through this service. The stated processing estimate is 7 days. An application receipt is not an approved visa.
  5. Check the issued permission. Save the approval, verify its identity and travel conditions, and print the eVisa. Carry the itinerary and accommodation or other supporting documents appropriate to the visit, as the official portal instructs.

Questions from Ukrainian passport holders

Which country do I select if I am Ukrainian but depart from Poland?

Select Ukraine when you will enter Egypt using a Ukrainian passport. A Polish departure airport, billing address or residence document does not change that passport nationality.

Does an Egypt eVisa prove I can return to my European host country?

No. Check the return and transit requirements separately for the documents you hold. Egyptian entry permission does not replace a residence, protection, transit or return document required elsewhere.

Can I use the Latin spelling from an older Ukrainian passport?

Use the current international passport intended for travel. If its spelling differs from a booking or residence record, resolve the discrepancy rather than silently copying the old passport into the application.
