Passport eVisa or German identity-card entry?

The Auswärtiges Amt describes entry with a German identity card under specific conditions, including photographs. That is a different document procedure from the passport eVisa offered here. If you intend to use a Reisepass, compare its expiry against the arrival date and upload that passport's biodata page. If you have already booked with a Personalausweis, clarify the procedure with your carrier or the Egyptian mission first. Buying an eVisa cannot turn an identity-card number into a valid passport number.

A Hurghada holiday with a Luxor excursion

Consider an illustrative itinerary: arrival at Hurghada, five nights at a resort, then a day trip to Luxor before flying home. The visit to Luxor stays within Egypt, so it does not create a second entry. Record the actual first accommodation address rather than the German tour operator's address. If the operator changes the resort, retain the revised voucher and review the application details. A side trip abroad followed by a return to Egypt is the point at which the entry count needs a fresh check.

Planning around German school-holiday departures

For an autumn-break or winter-sun booking, make document preparation part of the booking checklist rather than waiting for the final flight voucher. Different German states have different holiday dates. Use your confirmed departure date, allow more than the stated seven-day processing estimate where possible, and leave room to replace a scan or correct a spelling.

Suppose the visual passport surname contains Müller and the machine-readable lines use MUELLER. Both refer to the same document, but you should follow the spelling instructions for the particular form field rather than mixing spellings arbitrarily. A check before applying with a German passport

A German-issued residence permit does not make its holder a German passport applicant. A family departing from Berlin may need different nationality checks for different passports. Prepare each traveller separately, including children; sharing a hotel room does not make the parents' visa cover the child's identity.

This application requires an ordinary passport biodata page. Germany's identity-card entry procedure is separate. Confirm that alternative with the carrier or Egyptian mission instead of entering an identity-card number as a passport.

Does a Hurghada-to-Luxor excursion need Multiple Entry?

No second international entry is created by travelling between Hurghada and Luxor within Egypt. Multiple Entry concerns leaving Egypt and returning, subject to the permission on the issued visa.

Can my child's application use my German passport scan?

Use the passport of the traveller named in each application. Keep the child's file and identity details separate, and check the carrier's additional documentation for children before departure.
