Can Dutch citizens apply for an Egypt eVisa?
Dutch ordinary passport holders can prepare a tourist Egypt eVisa. Netherlands Worldwide notes that children also need their own travel documents and visa. A family booking should therefore be treated as several passport-specific applications, with the Dutch nationality selected only for travellers who will use a Dutch passport.
A Dutch family holiday needs individual document checks
Start with every traveller's passport, including infants, rather than one booking confirmation for the household. Netherlands Worldwide is the Dutch official reference for entry and travel advice. A Dutch residence permit held by a different national does not replace that person's passport eligibility. If the family includes more than one nationality, use the matching country guide for each record. Where a child travels with one parent or another adult, check the relevant consent and carrier documentation separately from the eVisa.
Amsterdam to Hurghada, with children on one hotel booking
In an illustrative family itinerary, two adults and two children share a resort voucher. Keep four distinct passport scans and review four identity records, even if the first accommodation address is the same. The adult handling payment should not overwrite the children's names or birth dates. A visit to Luxor during the stay is domestic travel and does not itself create re-entry. If one relative joins later on a different flight, that person's intended arrival may differ from the rest of the family.
Meivakantie and staggered family arrivals
For a May school break, prepare all documents together but base each arrival field on that traveller's confirmed itinerary. A separate departure from another Dutch airport can produce a different local arrival date. Apply with a correction margin beyond the seven-day estimate so a child's new passport or an unclear scan can be checked before leaving.
Example: a Dutch surname with tussenvoegsels
For a fictional passport displaying van der Meer as the surname, do not silently shorten it to Meer or move the surname prefixes into given names. Follow the passport's labelled fields and the form's character instructions. Match the uploaded scan to the correct applicant before reviewing the automatically read details. An identity card or Dutch residence document is not the passport biodata page for this service. Keep the family file names descriptive without publishing passport numbers in shared folder names.

A check before applying with a Dutch passport
A single family email can receive several documents, so check the name and passport number on every approval instead of saving the first attachment for everyone. Keep a child-specific folder and verify any extra travel-consent documentation required for the accompanying adults.
Prepare your application and travel file
- Check the route first. Use the ordinary passport you will carry. The official Egyptian portal lists passport validity of at least six months from arrival. Resolve any nationality-specific conditions before payment.
- Prepare a readable biodata page. This form accepts JPG or PNG, up to 500 KB. Keep all edges and the machine-readable lines visible. Manually verify automatically read names, numbers and dates.
- Keep dates and addresses consistent. Have your actual Egyptian arrival date, intended departure, itinerary, accommodation address and contact email ready. The form advances between completed sections automatically; review the answers before submitting.
- Review the entry product and total. Single Entry is $59 and Multiple Entry is $149 through this service. The stated processing estimate is 7 days. An application receipt is not an approved visa.
- Check the issued permission. Save the approval, verify its identity and travel conditions, and print the eVisa. Carry the itinerary and accommodation or other supporting documents appropriate to the visit, as the official portal instructs.
Already applied? Check your application status. For changes to an existing request, use your reference when contacting Egypt eVisa Online; do not start a duplicate application merely to correct a question.
Questions from Dutch passport holders
Can Dutch children travel on a parent's Egypt eVisa?
Prepare each child's identity and passport record separately. Netherlands Worldwide states that children need their own passport and visa. Also check additional consent documents for the child's actual travel arrangement.
How should I enter van der or another Dutch surname prefix?
Follow the surname field of the passport and the application's instructions. Do not omit or relocate a prefix merely because a booking account sorts the surname differently.
Can family members arriving on different dates share one arrival date?
Use the actual local arrival date for each traveller. A shared hotel reservation or common payment does not make different inbound flights arrive on the same day.
