Can Romanian citizens apply for an Egypt eVisa?
Romanian ordinary passport holders can prepare an Egypt tourist eVisa. Use an international passport rather than assuming travel on a Romanian identity card works as it does within the EU. Check the current Egyptian entry rules and Romania's MAE travel conditions before relying on a package seller's document checklist.
Leaving the EU with a Romanian passport
An Egypt holiday needs its own travel-document check, even if many earlier European trips required only an identity card. Use the ordinary passport you will carry to Egypt and select Romania for that passport. A Romanian residence permit held by another national does not give the same nationality. The linked MAE travel-conditions page is provided for direct verification; it could not be retrieved during this source check, so this guide does not claim to reproduce its latest detailed instructions.
Bucharest departure, Hurghada resort and Cairo sightseeing
Consider a sample resort booking departing from Bucharest with a Cairo excursion later in the week. Hurghada and Cairo are both in Egypt, so travelling between them does not itself create another entry. Keep the resort's full address, the excursion booking and the arrival date together. If the organiser substitutes a different arrival airport, review the revised voucher instead of leaving the previous airport's local date in the application. A Romanian tour reservation is separate from the visa approval.
Winter breaks and late charter confirmation
For a Romanian winter-break booking, prepare the passport scan while waiting for final charter details. Fill travel dates from the confirmed itinerary, and recheck any arrival after midnight. If the passport is due for renewal, resolve that before the application so that payment and a new passport number do not create avoidable follow-up.
Example: Romanian diacritics and a clear passport page
A fictional surname containing Ș or Ț should be compared with the passport and the form's permitted spelling rather than copied from a keyboard approximation. Include all requested given names. Upload the full biodata page, with the number, expiry and MRZ readable; a Romanian identity card is not a replacement for that page. After automatic reading, check digits that can resemble letters and compare the full birth date, not only the year.

A check before applying with a Romanian passport
A package confirmation can contain the payer's name while the application concerns another traveller. Keep the payer, traveller and first Egyptian accommodation distinct. Shared payment does not mean all applicants should receive the same personal details.
Prepare your application and travel file
- Check the route first. Use the ordinary passport you will carry. The official Egyptian portal lists passport validity of at least six months from arrival. Resolve any nationality-specific conditions before payment.
- Prepare a readable biodata page. This form accepts JPG or PNG, up to 500 KB. Keep all edges and the machine-readable lines visible. Manually verify automatically read names, numbers and dates.
- Keep dates and addresses consistent. Have your actual Egyptian arrival date, intended departure, itinerary, accommodation address and contact email ready. The form advances between completed sections automatically; review the answers before submitting.
- Review the entry product and total. Single Entry is $59 and Multiple Entry is $149 through this service. The stated processing estimate is 7 days. An application receipt is not an approved visa.
- Check the issued permission. Save the approval, verify its identity and travel conditions, and print the eVisa. Carry the itinerary and accommodation or other supporting documents appropriate to the visit, as the official portal instructs.

Questions from Romanian passport holders
Can a Romanian identity card replace the passport upload?
This application requires an ordinary passport biodata page. Do not assume that an identity card used for travel inside the EU is suitable for a passport-based Egyptian eVisa.
Is a Romanian tour operator's booking number my Egypt visa reference?
No. Keep the tour reservation, this service's application reference and any issued visa separately. A booking confirmation or payment receipt is not a visa approval.
What if the charter reaches Egypt after midnight?
Enter the local arrival date shown on the final itinerary. If the timing changes after preparation, review the arrival field and any issued visa's permitted date window before departure.
